Ingredients Dumplings

500ml cake flour (2cups)

15ml baking powder (3t)

pinch salt

5ml sugar (1t)

2 eggs

125ml milk (1/2 cup)



1> Sift the dry ingredients together. Add the sugar.

2> Add eggs and milk to make a soft, but not sticky dough.

3> drop the dumplings by teaspoonful into stew. cover with lid and allow to cook gently for approx 20mins. Turn dumplings over and cook a further 10mins covered. 

TIP: do not lift the lid of the saucepan for the fist 20mins. of cooking as it is the steam which makes the dumplings light.
